This booklet is organized through the modular grid that utilizes equally distributed guides, either symmetric not asymmetric to group information. When using this type of grid, one must know that too many grids can eradicate the sense of continuity. On the other hand too few grids will not be able to hold a wide range of materials (pictures, text, graph, charts…etc).

During the process, I made sure that the content followed flowline. Flowline is the horizontal line that appears on the layout within the text. It is where your eyes goes through the page.

Through creating this booklet I learned the difference between a manuscript grid and a column grid. A manuscript grid consists of having one block of test with an outside margin for the readers’ thumbs and an inside margin for the gutter. The upper and lower margins are used for the folio, chapter title or running head. This type of grid is most used in word processing programs. On the other hand a column grid uses more than one columns and is a lot more flexible than the manuscript grid. There are smaller blocks of text and the integration of the text with the image is tighter.

Deconstructing the grid to build this booklet in order to replicate the layout of a page and then changing some of the aspects such as the margins, gutter space or the alignment to create a different layout of the page.
